Sashiko and visible mending is the art of mending tear and holes in clothes to lengthen the life of the garment.
Sashiko translated means “little stabs,” which perfectly describes the distinctive running stitch that defines the technique’s style.
A few hours with us for some mindful hand stitching in a peaceful environment and give your clothes more love.
What you will learn:
Basic sashiko stitches
How to use visible mending
Different ways to use fabrics to patch clothes
What you will need:
Your garment you want to mend, bring a couple with you, we will probably only get to do one but can discuss the options for any others.
If you would like a particular fabric to use to mend or a particular colour thread for the stitching.
What we will supply:
We will have the correct needles and a reel of sashiko thread for you to use and keep.

Please note we try to calculate how long a workshop will be and plan to finish each garment in the allocated time but this isn’t always possible, If you are unable to finish in the workshop time we will make sure you are confident with your garment to be finished at home.
We need a minimum of 4 people for this workshop go ahead, if this number isn’t achieved by one week before we will be contacting you with an alternative date, if you are unable to re-schedule, we offer a full refund.
